Take an official practice driving theory test

You can take official Driving Standards Agency (DSA) practice theory tests online free of charge. Practice tests are available for learner car drivers, motorcyclists, lorry, bus and coach drivers. Find out how to take a practice test.

Car practice theory tests

Each test contains 50 multiple-choice questions. The pass mark is 43 out of 50.

Motorcycle practice theory tests

Each test contains 50 multiple-choice questions. The pass mark is 43 out of 50.

Large goods vehicle (LGV) practice theory tests

Each practice LGV test contains 50 multiple-choice questions. The real LGV test has 100 questions, and the pass mark is 85 out of 100.

Passenger carrying vehicle (PCV) practice theory tests

Each practice PCV test contains 50 multiple-choice questions. The real PCV test has 100 questions, and the pass mark is 85 out of 100.

How to use this service

The practice test screens look similar to the theory test you will take at the test centre.

You cannot practise the hazard perception part with these tests.
