State Pension online

Thank you for using the Government Gateway to apply for your State Pension.

What you need to do next depends on the message you received in Government Gateway.

1. Registration successful

New users

You will get a User ID and Activation Code in the post within the next seven days. They will arrive separately.

Existing users

You already have a User ID. You will get an Activation Code for State Pension Online in the post within the next seven days.

Please also remember the password you provided as part of registering as you will need this later.

Once you receive your Activation Code/User ID, return to the 'Claim your State Pension online' page on GOV.UK to start your claim.

2. Registration not successful

If your registration was unsuccessful it's probably because your details couldn't be confirmed. Call the Information Helpdesk to update your details and continue with your claim online.
