Diabetes on diet and driving

Diabetes on diet is a condition that you do not need to tell the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) about. Find out further information by downloading the relevant information leaflet.

Car or motorcycle driving licence holders

If you hold a car or motorcycle driving licence - you will not need to tell DVLA about your medical condition.

For future reference please download the diabetes information leaflet ‘Car or motorcycle drivers with diabetes treated by tablets, diet or both (TAB1).’

Bus, coach or lorry driving licence holders

If you hold a bus, coach or lorry driving licence - you will not need to tell DVLA about your medical condition.

For future reference please download the diabetes information leaflet ‘Lorry and / or bus drivers with diabetes treated by diet alone (VDIET).’
