Problem
Potential steering problem.
Action
The recall involves checking the intermediate shaft of the steering, which might not be according to specification. In the worst case the vehicle would no longer be steerable.
The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) has carried out a risk assessment and has concluded that even though the risk of failure is extremely low, the consequences of failure on test could be very serious.
DSA has therefore decided that examiners should not conduct tests in the new Corsa D model affected by the recall until the vehicle has been checked under the warranty arrangements. However, if the vehicle is fitted with dual controls, the test can be conducted.
