Recall issue date

Problem

Faulty driver and front passenger seat belt locking mechanisms for vehicles built between 1999 and 2000.

Action

You must provide documentary evidence from a vehicle dealer that:

  • the recall work has been carried out
  • the vehicle has been checked and no work is necessary
  • the vehicle is exempt from the recall work

One of the documentary evidence can be:

  • the actual recall letter or safety notice that has been stamped by the dealer
  • written documentary evidence from the dealer

The relevant recall notice needed for the models affected is 01-C-02 (for faulty seat belt locking mechanisms).

If you take an affected vehicle to your test and don’t provide any documentary evidence your test will be cancelled.

No compensation will be paid.

The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) is sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
