Driving test vehicle recall: Toyota Yaris

This vehicle can’t be used for your practical driving test as it is subject to a recall notice that has been issued by the vehicle manufacturer for safety reasons. Find out if your vehicle is affected and what action you need to take.

Vehicles affected

Toyota Yaris vehicles with the following range of vehicle identification numbers (VIN) and a registration number of 55 onwards:

You can find the VIN at the bottom of the front window, on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Recall issue date

2 February 2007.

Problem

Faulty headrests and side airbag deployment.

Action

You must provide documentary evidence to show that:

  • work has been done
  • vehicle has been checked and no work is necessary

One of the documentary evidence can be:

  • the original recall letter stamped and dated by a Toyota dealer
  • written confirmation from a Toyota garage

Toyota has set up a customer helpline – 0845 275 5555 – if you need further help or advice.

If you take an affected vehicle to your test and don’t provide any documentary evidence your test will be cancelled.

No compensation will be paid.
