Driving test vehicle recall: Ford Fiesta 1989-90 models

These vehicles can’t be used for your practical driving test as they are subject to a recall notice that has been issued by the vehicle manufacturer. Find out if your vehicle is affected and what action you need to take.

Vehicles affected

Ford Fiesta – 1989 to 1990 models.

Recall issue date

18 March 1996.

Problem

Faulty seat belt mechanism.

Action

You must provide documentary evidence at your test (other than an MOT certificate) that the seat belt operates correctly.

One of the documentary evidence can be:

  • the actual vehicle recall notice that has been stamped by the manufacturer or dealer
  • written documentary evidence from the manufacturer or a dealer

If you take an affected vehicle to your test and don’t provide any documentary evidence your test will be cancelled.

No compensation will be paid.
