Tax your vehicle online – it’s quick and easy

If you need to tax or make a SORN on your vehicle, then why not use the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) online service. On average, taxing online will only take you four minutes. All you need is the reference number from your V11 reminder or registration certificate (V5C) and a valid debit or credit card.

Do it online here

Do it now, tax your vehicle, or make a SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification), online or by phone (0300 123 4321).

If you prefer to tax in the last few days of the month, there is now an exemption from the offence of not displaying a tax disc. This exemption covers the first five working days of the month and allows time for the new disc to arrive in the post.

The exemption only applies if applications are made before the current tax disc or SORN expires.
