The Budget - 21 March 2007

The Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Rt Hon Gordon Brown MP, made his Budget speech to the House of Commons today.

Cutting the basic rate of Income Tax from April 2008, an increase in vehicle excise duty for the most polluting cars and changes to Stamp Duty for zero carbon homes were amongst the changes announced in the speech.
