Contributing to the debate

The issues discussed and decisions taken at the London Summit 2009 will touch everyone's lives. There is a host of ways that you can contribute to the debate at the London Summit.

Some of the main methods are outlined below. However, there are many other ways you can participate. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has been working with a whole series of online discussion forums and independent organisations. Please note, these views do not necessarily reflect the views of the UK government.

How you can get involved

Below are some of the ways you can join in with the various issues and debates stemming from the Summit.

Ask a minister or public figure a question

You can put your question to a politician or well known figure with the help of Yoosk, an interactive interview magazine.

Get blogging

Bloggers around the world are talking about the global economic challenges.

Blogging website G20Voice has invited 50 bloggers to go to the London Summit. They will be your eyes and ears as the world leaders discuss the economic and other global issues. Read more about how you can get involved.

Host your own G20 event

we20 is an independent initiative set up to run alongside the London Summit, creating a bridge between the G20 leaders and you. It helps you meet, in groups of between 3 and 20 people, to find short-term and long-term solutions to the global economic crisis.

Join an online debate

Both YouTube and Mumsnet are hosting debates online about the London Summit.

YouTube has a range of interviews, vox pops and footage from main London Summit events. You can watch, comment and subscribe to the official London Summit YouTube channel.

The Mumsnet discussion board, Mumsnet Talk, attracts around 20,000 posts every day from members of the general public. You can join in the debate online, and follow the discussions of the Mumsnet official blogger at the London Summit.
